Mock Interview Program Information

The following information was prepared by Norm Manly and used at Manson High School in Manson, Washington. The Mock Interview project was a huge success with students learning how to prepare for a job interview and with several of the students actually getting jobs. You are welcome to use these document to help prepare your own Mock Interview program. Contact Norm if you have questions.

Begin by developing an overview of the project and a timeline for accomplishing goals along the way.  Project Overview and Timelines.

Next secure individuals from your community willing to participate in the Mock Interview Program. Participants list. Met with each participant and present them with an introduction letter, to go over the program and hand out Employers Mock Interview Guidelines.

At your first meeting with students explain the project and how it will help them in life. Set expectations for students along with a timeline. Hand out Mock Interview Introduction to students. and the Student Guidelines.

Use this easy scheduling form. Students may choose the time that works best for them.

Finally, interviewers will use a rubric and Grading form to evaluate students.

Be sure to have students mail out thank you letters right away and plan to hold a critique of the Mock Interview project with student to make positive changes for next year.
